Internship opportunity—— International Energy Agency (IEA)

The International Energy Agency (IEA) is an intergovernmental organisation committed to advancing security of energy supply, economic growth and environmental sustainability through energy policy co-operation. The IEA is an autonomous organization, examining the full spectrum of energy issues and advocates policies that will enhance the reliability, affordability and sustainability of energy. The IEA seek opportunities to work with an increasing number of non-members of growing importance to the world economy (countries beyond IEA).
 
The IEA seeks to recruit an intern to work on China’s energy sector and contribute to the activities of the China desk. The intern will provide strong analytical, drafting and research support. The selected candidate will work in a team of enthusiastic professionals with diverse international background.
 
Main Responsibilities: research, analysis and drafting
1. Participate in the preparation of studies and documents in areas of work of the China desk;
2. Carry out documental research and review of existing material;
3. Collect, organise and evaluate data;
4. Contribute to the production of documents, working papers and publications resulting from the above activities, including drafting notes and preparing technical annexes;
5. Support the broader activities of the IEA China desk through analytical, written and verbal contributions.
 
Ideal Candidate Profile
1. Master student or above, in relevant disciplines such as economics, international affairs, public affairs, energy;
2. Languages: Excellent reading skills in Chinese; Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English. Knowledge of both above mentioned languages is a prerequisite.
3. Computer skills: solid knowledge of Microsoft Office (word and excel mainly);
4. Good organisational skills, ability to work effectively on the basis of general instructions with the capacity to prioritise tasks, often according to tight deadlines;
5. Proven ability to work in a multicultural and team oriented environment;
6. Experience in research and analytical activities in China through studies, internships or professional activities would be an advantage.
 
Duration and work location
1. Up to 6 months, renewable (as soon as possible, part-time possible);
2. Work location: Paris 15th;
3. The selected candidate will be provided with a monthly indemnity.
