Research Areas

1.Our Research focus on the mechanisms of photosynthesis and electron transfer as well as heterocyst differentiation and pattern formation in cyanobacteria, especially on the signal transduction and gene transcriptional regulation in the heterocyst differentiation process.

2.By now a lot of important genes have been isolated, such as hetR, hetN, patS and ccbp, all of which play key roles in the regulation of heterocyst formation.
