1. Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Hydrogeology

The Department of Geological Sciences at the University of Alaska Anchorage (www.uaa.alaska.edu/ geology/) seeks to hire a tenure-track faculty member at open rank, broadly in the field of hydrogeology, to begin August 2017. We aim to expand and complement existing areas of research expertise in the Department which include geochemistry, structural geology, petrology/geochronology, stratigraphy/petroleum geology, Quaternary geology, and planetary geology. 

The position requires a Ph.D. in geological sciences or a related field, university teaching experience, and demonstration of research experience and future potential. Industry or post-doctoral experience will be considered favorably. 2. Endowed Chair (Associate/Full Professor) of Unconventional Energy

3. Research Scientist

The Crustal Geophysics and Geochemistry Science Center (CGGSC) has an open position for a capable, established research scientist able to join and enhance our team of remote sensing experts.  The CGGSC invites applications for a permanent Research Geophysicist/Physical Scientist/Geologist position that is supported by the Mineral Resources Program.  We seek candidates that combine a broad expertise in remote sensing, with an emphasis on the use of imaging spectroscopy techniques (laboratory, theoretical and field), that may be applied to such topics as mineral resource and disaster/hazard assessments, geoenvironmental and planetary investigations, and human health issues.

Purpose & Responsibilities:

Currently, AGU has an excellent internship opportunity in our dynamic Science Department. The student programs intern will work on AGU Talent Pool initiatives, particularly in student and early career programs. These programs serve young and early career AGU members through career development resources, travel and research grants, student paper judging, and meetings programs.

The student programs intern will assist with the management of AGU student and career center programs by researching and analyzing information for the Outstanding Student Paper Awards Program, Student Travel Grants, Mentorship Programs and Early Career Scientist Conference. Additionally, the intern will also monitor shared email boxes, respond to AGU member inquiries and assist in other areas as needed.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree and current student or graduate in Science or related field
  • Well-organized and skilled at prioritizing and managing multiple tasks
  • Strong research and writing skills are needed.
  • Willingness to relocate to Washington D.C. area for the internship at own expense.

5. Tenure-track Assistant Professor in Energy Engineering

The John and Willie Leone Family Department of Energy and Mineral Engineering (http://www.eme.psu.edu) at the Pennsylvania State University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in the field of energy engineering. The Department is vibrant and growing with 35 faculty members, about 125 graduate students, and 1500 undergraduate students. The faculty conduct funded research of $6 M per year. 6. 2017 Postdoctoral Scholar Program

8. Tenure Track Paleontologist

10. Graduate positions available - Department of Geology & Geophysics, Louisiana State University

Earth materials modeling lab at the Department of Geology and Geophysics at Louisiana State University invites applications for graduate student (Ph.D., M.S.) and postdoc positions in mineral physics, earth materials, or geochemistry.

The subject of the project will be decided upon agreement between the candidate and the supervisor and will depends on the candidate interests and strengths and the research interest of the lab on earth materials modeling.
