On November 13, 2018, the Indonesian maritime cooperation delegation visited the Peking University Institute of Ocean Research.
In order to deepen the mutual understanding between the two sides and promote China-Indonesia maritime cooperation, the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia organized a delegation composed of members from Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Indonesian Ministry of Transportation, Indonesia Maritime Security Agency and Indonesian Institute of Sciences to visit China. The meeting between the delegation and Peking University scholars is designed to exchange views on the construction of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road and the maritime cooperation between China and Indonesia. Professor Wang Lei, Professor Zha Daojiong, Research Professor Hu Bo participate this meeting.

Harlianto Tarmizi, Deputy Secretary of the Directorate General of Legal Affairs and International Treaties, Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, suggested that China and Indonesia should deepen exchanges and strengthen cooperation in the maritime field.

This discussion explored the possibility of cooperation between the two sides in the field of maritime strategy and policy, marine debris solutions, marine energy resources, etc. Both sides expressed their expectation for further communication and cooperation.
