July 6-11, 2014, 25 doctoral and graduate students from Peking University participated in the investigation activities of "Exploring the Ocean" organized by the State Oceanic Administration, which is mainly opened to the doctoral students that are interested in ocean research from the universities in China.

The series of activities started from the year of 2012. In this time, the investigation group inspected ten units of State Oceanic Administration, including the North China Sea Branch, North China Sea Environmental MonitoringCenter, the First Institute of Oceanography, the National Deep Sea Center, the National Marine Information Center, theTianjin Institute of Sea water Desalination and Multi purpose Utilization, the National Ocean Technology Center, the National Centerof Ocean standard and Metrology, the National Marine Environmental Forecastting Center, and the National Satellite Ocean Application Service Center. 

The 6-day investigation impressed the students and inspired them to explore the ocean.
