On September 21, 2016, Jiao Nianzhi, Academician of CAS, Professor of Oceanic and earth college, Xiamen University, was invited to give an academic report on the microbial carbon pump(MCP) and global climate change. This seminar was chaired by Hu Yongyun, Director of Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences of School of Physics, Peking university. Professor Mei Zheng, Vice Dean of Institute of Ocean Research, attended this report.
Professor Jiao Nianzhi
Professor Jiao shared his original research results in carbon cycle and marine micro biological processes and mechanisms from the perspectives of research background, basic connotation, how to put forward, climate effect, application prospect and international dynamics of MCP. At the same time, he also introduced the innovative thinking, research method and scientific understandingin combination with the specific scientific problems andhis own experience, especially the experience when he was confronted with difficulties in publishing papers. In the end, he encouraged the students to engage in scientific research with five proverbs.
