【Cao Yusong】Coupling Analysis of Marine Floating Platform Movement

2016-06-29 16:24:15

Topic: Coupling Analysis of Marine Floating Platform Movement

Time: June 29, 2016 , 10:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m.

Location: 210 conference room, building 1, College of Engineering

Abstract:

During the design process of marine floating platform system, how to correctly analyze and predict corresponding motion and internal load response of the system at various marine environmental conditions effected of various external loads, it will be critical for the construction, transportation, installation and operation of the offshore floating platform system. The platform motion coupling analysis method takes account of the interaction between the movement of the platform and its subsystems, and the influence and change on the surrounding environment. Compared with non coupling analysis, the coupling analysis can reflect the actual physical process more accurately, thus giving more accurate prediction. The application of coupling analysis has been paid more and more attention, and has been used more and more in the actual engineering design analysis.

The lecture will be combined with some examples to introduce the application of a coupling analysis method and the corresponding engineering software in the design and analysis of Marine Engineering.

The lecture will also discuss further improvements and new breakthroughs needed in modeling in order to deal with the new problems and challenges that will be encountered in the analysis of new floating platform systems.
